How to create a QR code in 4 steps
- 1
Choose the content type
Select whether your QR will link to a URL, free text, email address, phone number, WiFi credentials or SMS/WhatsApp message. Each type optimizes the amount of data encoded.
- 2
Enter the data
Paste your URL or type the content you want to encode. The QR code is generated automatically as you type, with no button click required.
- 3
Customize the design
Choose the color of the modules (dots) and the background, change the dot shape (square, rounded or circular), configure the corners and upload your logo to add it to the center of the QR.
- 4
Export your QR
Download as PNG for digital use and standard printing, vector SVG to scale without quality loss, or PDF to embed the QR directly in documents. You can also copy the image to the clipboard.

Frequently asked questions about QR codes
Which plan do I need to use the QR generator?
The QR generator is included in the Office Tools Plus Plan (€5/month). With Plus you can create unlimited QRs, customize colors, add your logo and export as PNG, SVG or PDF. If you don't have an account yet, you can sign up free with the Starter plan and explore the tools included at that tier before upgrading.
Do the QR codes I generate expire?
No. The static QR codes generated with Office Tools never expire. The content (URL, text, WiFi…) is encoded directly in the module and works permanently without relying on any external server or active subscription.
Can I add my logo to the QR without breaking it?
Yes. When you add a logo, the generator automatically activates error correction level H (30%), which means the QR remains readable even if 30% of its area is covered. For best compatibility, keep the logo below 25% of the total code area.
What's the difference between PNG and SVG for QR codes?
PNG is a bitmap image with fixed resolution. It's ideal for email, social media or printing at a specific size. SVG is a vector format that scales to any size without loss of quality. Use it for professional printing, billboards, packaging or merchandising where the QR may appear at a large size.
How do I create a QR for my WiFi network?
Select the 'WiFi' type in the generator, enter the network name (SSID), password and security type (WPA/WPA2, WEP or open). The generated QR lets any smartphone connect automatically when scanned, without typing the password manually.
What is the minimum size for a QR code to be readable?
The recommended minimum print size is 2 cm × 2 cm (about 200px at 96 dpi). For posters or signage in walk-by areas, at least 5–10 cm. If the QR is scanned from more than 1 metre away, increase the size proportionally. Always export as SVG to guarantee quality at any dimension.
